This group features Australia, Fiji, Georgia, Portugal and Wales, all of which have gotten one match in already except for Portugal. In Wales' first match, it defeated Fiji 32-28 in a competitive match that set the stage for the group. A win for either country today would keep them in the running for the top spot early on in pool play, along with Australia who won its first match as well. Australia and Wales are the two favorites to win Pool C and advance to the knockout stage in the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Over its last five matches, Portugal is 3-1-1 heading into the group stage building momentum heading into the 2023 Rugby World Cup. The only loss came a little over a year ago to Georgia, who is in this group.
